A night in Vegas

My family took a trip down to St. George last weekend.  It was a much needed break and a fun bonding time.  My brother Nate, a huge fan of the Beatles, treated us all to the Cirque Du Soleil "LOVE" show in Vegas.  It was amazing.

People are so dang talented, and the Beatles, such entertaining music.

My parents took one for the team and stayed back in St George Friday night with all of the grandkids.  We had a good weekend playing frisbie, games, visiting and just hanging out.  It was so warm, which was a big change from Salt Lake City.  It was nice to actually see the sun!

A Bittersweet Move

We have been crazy busy the last few weeks.  We offered on a home, it was accepted and we decided to pack up and move the week of finals... poor Nick!  We wanted to save a month's rent, and my sweet sister and her family offered to have us in their home for a month.  It's been so great.  They have totally welcomed us in and we love their family, so it's a double plus!

The move was bittersweet!  As I packed up, being the emotional person I am, I let memories take over!  There is just something special about your first place.  I asked Nick if he was sad and he looked at me with the most surprised face, "NO! We are moving into a house!"  Boys just don't usually get it ;)  We spent our first year there and it was perfect, extremely small, but perfect!  We grew to love our ward, so many fun people and friends we made.  I will especially miss Young Women's.  Nick was able to walk to school all of the time and I wasn't too far from work.  The one thing we won't miss... the parties... let's just say we lived next door to a Frat house and our weekends were filled with lots of loud music until all hours of the night.  Oh and carrying groceries all the way around the house and down to the basement!  We feel like a house will be a huge luxury!  We feel so blessed, as every little thing has fallen perfectly into place.

Here are some shots of our apartment, The living room... (don't mind the couch, Nick broke it, along with some light bulbs and other things, it was a little too small for him :)

The kitchen...

The bathroom...

and our room, which I forgot to take a full picture of...

And yes, that pretty much sums up the whole apartment, minus a few closets :)

And now we are living with these fine people:

Here is a shot of us with their cute kids, decorating Easter Eggs.  Lucky for us, they have always invited us to all of their family traditions.  Everything is more fun with kids!

1 Year Down, Eternity To Go!

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary 2 weeks ago.  I can't believe how time does truly fly.  We decided to take a little trip down to Moab to celebrate.  It was so much fun, we loved enjoying the beautiful outdoors.  Our weekend was filled with hiking, hot-tubbing, dinners and rain!

I am SO grateful for Nick and can't wait for many more years to come.
Our cake... we definitely didn't eat any, but it was fun to pull out of the freezer!

2010 in a Nutshell!

One of my New Years Resolutions is to BLOG!  Although this is probably a crazy attempt, I am going to try to cover the year of 2010.  I've had a blog for almost a year, but unfortunately this is my first post.  I get way too caught up in reading other blogs!  Here goes catch up!

I spent the first few months of the year engaged to this amazing guy!
I was lucky to get a promotion in January, so I stayed busy with work and planning the wedding.
My best friend, Chelsea was so helpful and went to the Bridal Shows with me.

First came Engagement pictures.
We were so lucky to have Nick's sister-in-law, Camila as our photographer.  Check her out at www.camillabinks.com.  She has some insane talent.

Then came Bridals.  Camila made this so much fun!  She sure knows how to make a girl feel pretty.  And lucky for me, her skills totally MADE my pictures!  She's amazing.  My awesome sister, Rachel was also a HUGE help that day.  Couldn't have done it without them!
Then came the showers, people were SO generous.  My sweet neighbor- Marilyn Lavendar threw my ward shower, my awesome sister - Rachel threw my family shower, My amazing mother-in-law- Chris threw a family shower for Nick's side, my bestie - Chelsea threw my friend shower & Kristyn and Amy threw my work shower for Robintino's.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures.  Here is one with my Mom, who was also a BIG help.  She is amazing at decorating, so I left that part to her.  The place looked awesome, as well as the cake.  Love her!
A week before the wedding my sweet cousin, Brittanie passed away after battling ovarian cancer for 5 months.  We sure do miss her.  She spent the last several years working at Disney World in FL.  She was always so welcoming to everyone and really had a love for life.  Below is a picture of Madison, me, Rachel and Britt.  This was last Christmas (during her struggle).  This picture will always be very special for us.
Here is a shot of some of my family at the funeral:
The wedding came fast, what an amazing day!  We had so much support and couldn't have felt more loved that day.  I am so lucky to have Nick for always!

We were married in the Salt Lake Temple 3.20.10
All the great support...
Our good friends
Nick's family (minus Brian, Jamie, nieces & nephews)
My family
The Wray girls
The Reception...
The Wedding Party
I loved my cake: www.cakedame.com
Ali & I
Nick & Ryan
Our Reception was at Eldredge Manor
Needless to say we were BEAT, after a busy day!
We stayed at Little America (thanks to Matt who hooked us up big time), and then headed to St. George for the week.  We had a good time biking, swimming, hiking at Zion's and heading down to Vegas for a night.
2 months later we headed on a cruise to the Carribean, AMAZING!
Cruise ships are insane, so much to do, so fun!
Our first stop, Haiti.
I loved the towel animals
Our next stop, Jamaica - GORGEOUS!  We hiked Dunn Falls, which we couldn't take pictures of, but it was so neat.
Another stop, Grand Cayman - once again GORGEOUS, I couldn't believe how clear the water was.
Typical me, the whole trip, very sick!
Last stop: Cozumel.
Our awesome waiters...
A day in Fortlauderdale.
That sums up half the year!
